New local control unit for outdoor electronic sirens

The devices of the LCU product line present powerful elements of electronic siren control. They can be used to control a small warning and emergency system, however, more frequently, they find their applications as local control units in single sirens. They are housed in stainless steel boxes, thanks to which they can work even in harsh conditions.

A new addition to the above-mentioned product line is the LCU15 local control unit. When compared to its predecessor, LCU11, it has maintained all its important functionalities such as the possibilities of alarm activation, live voice announcement via in-built microphone, and basic siren control, but, additionally, it offers a number of innovations.

One of the most important alterations is the replacement of classical push-buttons for a single rotary push-button encoder, making the control of a siren by the LCU15 more intuitive, natural, and, most importantly, exceptionally fast. This is because time plays a vital role in emergency situations. Last but not least, the encoder works better in situations where operators have to wear protective gloves.

Despite the replacement of classical push-buttons for a single rotary push-button encoder, a greater variety of external control push-buttons can still be connected to the LCU15 local control unit. Besides this, a greater number of external sensors can be connected into the unit than to the previous LCU11, and it also allows a higher level of siren activation automation. Another new element is the possibility of optional power supply back-up using Li-pol batteries. The designers in the Telegrafia company simplified access to a USB port to facilitate software configuration and equipped the unit with a new display with three optional background colours to offer a higher degree of operational comfort.

Regarding communications, the main focus was on the improvement of wireless data transfer using X-Bee technology, resulting in an enhanced quality of live voice streaming. The new device is also equipped with an additional AD-DA converter for audio digitalisation.

All these improvements to the new LCU15 local control unit, in combination with the original LCU11 solutions workable in practice, led to the design which offers extraordinary resistance and robustness, operational comfort and, at the same time, better customisation in order to satisfy individual customers’ needs.

You can order the new LCU15 local control unit as an optional accessory to match the majority of Telegrafia’s sirens. For more information, do not hesitate to contact us at: sales@telegrafia.sk.
