Empowering Emergency Services with Mobile Sirens Screamer Car for Rapid Response

A crucial element was to equip the State Emergency Service (SES) with mobile Screamer car sirens that can be quickly mounted on SES or government vehicles to respond to emergencies such as floods, fires, cyclones, storm surges, and tsunamis, playing pre-recorded warnings and evacuation recommendations at an appropriate volume. These devices should also be easy to transport and have a long-lasting battery to operate in areas without access to electrical power.

Feedback:

Matthew Dyer, Disaster Manager at Bundaberg Regional Council in Queensland, Australia, has provided an image of a Screamer Car siren on a council vehicle as well as his impression of the performance of the sirens:
“You were not wrong when you mentioned how loud they were! Just what I wanted! Happy to say we have not used the sirens in anger yet, but we have used them in a couple of field drills”.
