Preparation of the community for hazards such as floods, fires, cyclones, storm tides and tsunamis.

It was crucial to equip the State Emergency Service (SES) with mobile sirens/warning devices that could be quickly placed on an SES or council vehicle to respond to emergencies and play pre-recorded warning notices and evacuation advice at an appropriately loud sound volume.
